Poems Based On The Most Desirable Ad Keywords

Can a poet make a good living in this modern world?
I’ve decided to find out. I’m going to write a series of poems based around the highest-paying search terms. If all goes well, I will soon be raking in the advertising dollars. Plus, I’ll be writing beautiful verse that will live in glory for all eternity, so I got that going for me, too.
The first installment:
A Clerihew, On The Theme Of “Chicago Personal Injury Lawyer”
Jonathan Worthington Serrington Sawyer
(a Chicago personal injury lawyer)
achieved his fame
through the length of his name.

“…and put a bronze of his head in the foyer.”
Careful, Poet Jacob – you are very close to the line.

I’m most curious why Chicago personal injury attorneys are paying 15 dollars more than their associates in New York. Is it easier to fake an injury in Illinois? Forget using these “desirable” ad keywords to make money. Suing Chicago is where the real money is.

There’s a lot of misunderstanding about how those ads work – as you’re site has nothing to do with the subject matter of the words you’re hoping to get ads on, you’ll be lucky to get a few cents per click.
If you have a big, valued and relevent site, you’ll make a lot more for those words. Good luck though – hope we all get some updates on if you made much!

You might surprise yourself with the poetry you create. I ask my students to do creative writing each week with their SAT vocabulary words. They have surprised me, themselves and have even enjoyed it. Good luck with it. I hope to watch your muse be true to you.

The best way to monetize your efforts would be to use Google adsense on your site. It will populate real sponsored ads based on the page’s content, and you make some change per click. So in theory, if your site is getting ranked for good keywords (which it is starting to) then searchers will land on your site. If they see an ad there that is targeting the search term that they are looking for, they may click on it. You will not get rich, but many high volume sites do make up to 1-4k per day on clicks.

Erm… Mr Lawyer… I appreciate your advice, but you may want to take a look at the right side of the page, under the words “Sponsored Links.” What do you see?
